Accidental Damage Insurance Cover

Optional Extra

We define Accidental Damage as ‘physical damage that is caused suddenly by an external event and that is unexpected and not deliberate’.

Our standard Buildings Insurance provides:

  • Accidental Damage cover to underground pipes, drains and cables
  • accidental breakage of fixed glass, sanitary fittings, ceramic in hobs and solar panels.

Our optional Buildings Insurance Accidental Damage cover will protect you further against accidents such as:

  • DIY accidents such as drilling through a pipe or cable or
  • putting your foot though the ceiling.

Our standard Contents Insurance provides:

  • Accidental Damage cover to televisions, audio and video equipment, DVD equipment, digital receivers and recorders and computers including components and accessories (excludes portable items e.g. tablets and laptops)
  • accidental breakage of mirrors, fixed glass in furniture and ceramic in hobs.

Subject to a limit of £5,000 in total for loss or damage to office equipment.

Our optional Contents Insurance Accidental Damage cover will protect you further for damage such as:

  • spilt paint on your carpet or furniture
  • dropping an ornament.

Our optional extras will not cover you for:

  • damage occurring whilst the buildings (or any part) are lent or let
  • if the buildings are unoccupied.
